Davy,
Here are some words that Bruce Shutan wrote on behalf
of the Happy Immortals. If appropriate, please read
on our behalf or simply digest, print out and leave
lying around, whatever. A small token,
Bill

We didn't know Lynette for long, but it felt as though
she'd been in our lives for years. She was a special
and incredible person who left an indelible mark on us
all. And while we were around her son, Joey, only a
handful of times, it was clear to us that his mom
played a major role in shaping him into well-mannered
child who always had a smile on his face and never
complained about anything -- which is quite a
challenge for any single parent. That's one of the
things we admired the most about Lynette. She was a
tremendous and highly attentive parent whose No. 1
priority always was to make a better life for her son.

It's easy to find many other wonderful qualities about
Lynette, who for most of 1999 was a soulmate, best
friend and confidant to each of us in the band that we
formed earlier in the year. From February through
September, we all felt extremely close to Lynette
while we together wrote, recorded and performed
original music. The moment she auditioned for our
band, which later became known as happi immortals, we
knew we had found a talented singer, songwriter,
keyboardist and music teacher who would add
considerable texture to our songs. We learned a lot
from her deep knowledge of -- and appreciation for --
music and were constantly amazed by her musical
skills. Her songs brought a freshness and wonderful
female point of view to the band. But while it was
music that drew us to her, the bond we developed
proved to be much more meaningful. We all got to know
her as a friend and appreciated her honesty, support,
compassion and spirituality.

Her tragic loss leaves a gaping hole in our hearts. We
will never forget her but feel blessed that she came
into our lives, even if it was only for a short time.
The tragedy, of course, is compounded by the fact that
her son, Joey, also lost his life. We can only hope
that they're both resting peacefully, and we at least
can take comfort knowing that their souls and the
memories we shared will live on forever.

With much love,
Juan Sarmiento
