Saturday, January 25th, 4Ever Erin (Luan Aleen) played at the Inn Zone in Falls Church, VA. Luan Aleen (Celtic for "Beautiful Moon")(now called an easier to say "4Ever Erin") is the new band that my friend Dorothy Hamilton is singing for. Most of the members do some singing but Dorothy handles most of the vocals single handedly (and very adeptly, I might add!). This wonderfully eclectic band is the brainchild of Dorothy's friend Davy Shannon, who plays guitar and also sings some of the leads. The other players that make 4Ever Erin (Luan Aleen) what it is are Tim Wright on keyboards, John Bald on bass, guitar and vocals, George Piasecki on drums and percussion, and Chris Semich on stellar violin. Together they perform a mix of Classic Rock, Folk, Country and Traditional Irish tunes. You can visit their website at http://www.4evererin.com. Be sure to check their schedule frequently to see where they're playing. It's well worth a long drive to pull up a chair, order a pint of Guiness and warm up to the richly diverse sound of 4EverErin (Luan Aleen). "

4Ever Erin is a cool name for a cool band.. I’ve seen these dudes and dudettes perform several times and I like them more each time I see them. Not your average rock and roll band, 4 Ever Erin can get you clapping to an uptempo Irish tune and slow dancing to a 60’s ballad, rocking to Stones number with lots of places in between.

4Ever Erin is a play on the Gaelic saying "Erin Go Braugh" which means "Ireland Forever" They can be acoustic for the coffee shop or electric with full drum set for the rock and roll show.. Comfortable in the Irish pub or the rock club, this group can play the favorite Irish songs and Celtic rock composition as well as rock you with covers from the 60’s to today. Kind of like Fleetwood Mac meets the Corrs or The Cranberries.

The cover material includes such artist as The Beatles, Rosie and The Originals, Ben E. King, Jefferson Starship, The Cranberries, Del Shannon, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, and Janis Joplin amongst others. They also do a number of very tatseful originals.

Dorothy Sherman and Lori Benscoter are the “singing angels” of the group, each an accomplished vocalist in her own right, when they sing together in harmony it’s awesome.. watch out Fleetwood Mac and Heart! Dorothy plays flute as well as sings.

Founder of the group, Davy Shannon, sings lead on some songs as well as doing back up vocals. He plays the acoustic and electric guitar, one patron described his lead guitar as “another Santana”. Rob Creath provides a steady beat on drums and percussion, Jimi Spicer provides a solid beat on the bass and he Lori and Davy switch off instruments as Jimi is an accomplished guitarist..

This is 4Ever Erin, a very talented, fun to watch and listen to group from the Baltimore area. They usually play in the Maryland, Virginia and Delaware area and are well worth a trip to see.

Hey Simon, I’d give these guys 5 out of 5 stars!! Check out their website 4Ever Erin
