Welcome to The Seanachie (pronounced 'shawnikee') Street Cyber Cafe.. a place for local musicians and groups to get listed, noticed, noted, a place for messages, schedules, notices and so forth..
The Seanachie were the musicians, storytellers, and artists of ancient Ireland.. they were so admired and respected by the people they were given the special name.. In an interview U2 and Van Morrison said they consider themselves carrying on the tradition of The Seanachie.. but you don't have to be Irish to carry on that tradition.. we're all latter day Seanachie, we're all special, creative, talented in our ways.. and maybe sometimes under apprecitated for our efforts.. music is the universal language..
This page was initially created for, but my no means limited to, those who have played at, are familiar with, interested in or may have friends in the recovery (12 step) clubs and programs in the Washington, DC and Baltimore area.. but anyone is welcome to partake and contribute! We need your support!.. As they say somewhere, "It works if you work it - and you're worth it"!.. Party on Garth!!
We're in the very embryonic stage of putting this site together right now.. we have a few links and want to do writeups on all the groups as well as their links to their websites.. articles, interviews, schedules.. a whole enchilada of band promo material and to get listed in the major search engines and local music sites such DC Pages and Maryland Party.. So far we have some links, a message board and an open mikes page:
A celebration of the life of Lynette Brawer, beautiful keyboardist, singer, songwriter extraordinaire of Callian's Dream who left us from this physical life due to a tragic fire in late summer of 2001
Eventually we'd like to add more info about the above groups on this site as well as add info and links for
The Grave Rockers
Brendan's Voyage
and others
